What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist Float Technician position at Biotech Clinical Laboratories?
Part-Time Assisted living Phlebotomy Float position to cover 3 facilities in Detroit & Warren (paid mileage between facilities)
Mon, Wed & Fri 5:30a-12:30pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts specimen collection, sometimes directly observed.
- Float to different office locations when specified by supervisor
- Gathers, verifies and enters patient data, confirms written and EMR orders by utilizing lab technology.
- Ability to work independently
- MUST display customer focus, communicate with patients, management and peers.
- MUST have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license.
- Process specimens timely for transportation.
- Assists the client services team in correcting discrepancies.
- Follows company policies, guidelines and compliance requirements.
- Meets continuous process improvement and/or standardization initiatives.
Education, Experience and Training
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Phlebotomy Certification/ Diploma required.
- Experience with nursing home/assisted living preferred.
- Must have 1 years experience
- Experience with geriatric patients and difficult draws
- Minimum one year experience working in a healthcare practice setting, preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of related organizational policies to administer patient care.
- Working knowledge of computers, especially word, excel and medical software.
