Metrologist – Medical Device Manufacturing | Onsite | Full-Time Benefits
Location - Upland California
A leading medical device manufacturer is seeking a Metrologist to support engineering, production, and quality functions across new product introduction and ongoing manufacturing. This role focuses on designing test fixtures, developing measurement methods, completing MSA studies, and supporting quality assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop gaging, fixturing, and inspection tooling
• Program inspection routines for injection-molded and assembled components
• Improve inspection processes and throughput for production & NPI
• Generate first article inspections, control plans, and inspection sheets
• Support CAPA, complaints, calibration OOT, and NCR investigations
• Conduct DOE, capability studies, and root cause analysis
• Train inspection/quality personnel on new methods and procedures
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits
• Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and internal QMS requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 5 years in injection molding or similar manufacturing environment
• Experience with OGP, CMM, and related metrology equipment
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, Minitab, CALYPSO, Zone3, MEASUREMIND, and related tools
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Solid knowledge of QMS processes (CAPA, NCR, root cause, etc.)
