The Technical Lead Architect is a senior technology leader, responsible for technical architecture, design, development and integration of a broad range of advanced technology solutions for the Patient Safety organization. This role acts as the primary technical authority across Safety systems and their integrations with adjacent platforms (e.g., Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Data platforms), ensuring solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. • Lead data and solution integration across the ecosystem, ensuring reliable, performant connectivity between Global Patient Safety systems, data products, and other platforms and systems.
  • Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps, technical standards, and reference architecture for the Patient Safety technology landscape.
  • Research and apply emerging technology—AI/ML, agentic workflows, intelligent automation—driving adoption.
  • Champion modernization and resilience, reducing technical debt and improving fault tolerance, observability, and recoverability.
  • Embed secure and AI-assisted engineering (code generation, automated testing, anomaly detection, threat-aware design) to accelerate delivery and improve operational quality.
  • Serve as a recognized expert, defining integration patterns and engineering standards adopted across Global Patient Safety teams.
  • Elevate technical colleagues by sharing data, integration, and security knowledge to broaden team impact.
  • Assume the role of Technical System Owner for GPS systems, accountable for the technical lifecycle, validated state and compliance.
  • Serve as the technical lead across multiple concurrent projects, providing hands-on guidance to developers, configuration analysts and integration and support teams.
  • Partner with Software Product Engineering, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure & Digital Core to drive aligned strategies, shared standards, and secure-by-design architectures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in IT architecture, systems integration, or technical lead roles, of which at least 5 years of software/systems engineering experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions for Patient Safety Organization, with clear technical ownership.

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong communication and cross-functional influencing skills.
  • Experience in Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), or a regulated (GxP) environment within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare.
  • Hands-on experience developing and integrating AI/agentic capabilities into operational systems.
