Responsibilities
Job Description
- Independently plan and perform method development, validation, execution, and assessment of results.
- Resolve and troubleshoot routine scientific and technical issues independently.
- Evaluate new technologies to solve scientific challenges or improve technological capabilities.
- Understand and execute established techniques independently.
- Document experimental activities and results in a GMP compliant fashion using an electronic data acquisition and management systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in numerous scientific software applications to collect, process, and report data.
- Prepare protocols and reports as well as quality, safety, and regulatory documents.
- Interact directly with partners outside the department with minimum oversight.
- Present results and actively engage with local and global teams.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, and GxP compliance, where applicable.
- Bachelors in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or equivalent education with 5 years of experience or Masters Degree or equivalent with 2 years of experience.
- Practical knowledge of modern peptide manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with chemical biology fundamentals and related analytical techniques including recombinant protein expression and purification, cell culture, immunoassays, and gels.
- Understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in analytical techniques relevant to peptide product development including mass spectrometry, amino acid analysis, advanced separation techniques, and higher-order structure studies.
- Self-motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented individual able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- High-quality written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary scientists and engineers.
- Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
- Demonstrates agility in triaging priorities, pivoting strategy when faced with change, and independently resolving bottlenecks and conflicts.
- Highly developed ability to work as part of a team and an effective communicator.
- Creates a positive learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.
