Job Description
Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) for the U.S. Business Unit (USBU) and Oncology Business Unit (OBU) is in the process of integrating into a single, aligned organization, with the intent to operate as a unified strategic partner to business leadership. During this period, DD&T leaders are expected to shape and enable business strategy through close partnership—translating enterprise platforms and emerging shared capabilities into prioritized roadmaps, investment decisions, and measurable outcomes.

U.S. Base Salary Range
$212,000.00 - $333,190.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.

- The Head of Data & Insights Engine is accountable for defining, building, and operating themodern data platform and insight enginefor USBU & OBU.
- This role establishes thefoundational data capabilitiesthat power AI enabled decision intelligence, advanced analytics, and execution support across the business.
- As a key member of the USBU & OBU DD&T leadership team, this role ensures data and insights are delivered reliably, securely, and at scale, aligned to Takeda DD&T strategy and leveragingDD&T scaled delivery modelsincluding Takeda’s Innovation and Capability Centers (ICCs).
- Define and own theUSBU & OBU data and insights strategy, aligned to Takeda enterprise DD&T and AI strategy.
- Build and operate amodern data platformthat integrates internal and external data sources to enable predictive, precise, and real time insights.
- Establish theData & Insights Engineas an industrialized capability providing trusted data products, analytics, and decision intelligence across Sales, Marketing, Medical, and Access.
- EnableAI driven insights and decision support, partnering closely to embed these insights into workflows.
- Leaddata engineering, analytics, and data science capabilities, ensuring consistent standards, reuse, and scalability.
- Providedata governance, quality, and master data management technology foundations to ensure confidence, compliance, and enterprise reuse.
- Design and scalerobust operating models, leveraging ICCs and other global delivery mechanisms to deliver cost effective, high quality data and insight services.
- Partner with Business Units, Product, and Platform leaders to prioritize data products and insight use cases with measurable business impact.
- Establish KPIs and value metrics to track adoption, performance, and impact of data and insight technologies.
- Define near, mid, and long termdata platform and analytics roadmapsaligned to the 3–5 year commercial and medical vision.
- Continuously evolve the technology ecosystem to incorporate new data methods, advanced analytics, and AI capabilities.
- Ensure the Data & Insights Engine remains future ready, resilient, and scalable.
- Serve as a senior member of theUSBU & OBU DD&T leadership community, shaping enterprise data direction and standards.
- Champion a culture ofdata driven decision making, analytics excellence, and operational discipline.
- Partner with Global DD&T, AI, and Platform leaders to align strategies and accelerate reuse.
- Own theData & Insights portfolio, including platform investments, analytics products, and operational capabilities.
- Partner with Finance and Strategy teams to plan and manage multi‑year investments.
- Optimize resourcing through effective use ofICCs and scaled delivery models.
- Define and managedata and insights KPIs, including data quality, platform performance, adoption, and business impact.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Identify issues and lead corrective actions to ensure reliability and trust.
- Serve as the primarydata and insights leaderfor USBU & OBU partnering with the USBU & OBU commercial Insights and Analytics functions
- Represent USBU & OBU data and analytics interests in data governance forums.

- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

- Strong financial and operating model acumen
- Ability to influence without authority in complex, matrixed environments
- Up to15–20% travel, primarily domestic
