About The Role
Insmed is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Strategic Sourcing to lead and evolve our enterprise procurement function. Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Finance, this leader will serve as a critical business partner across R&D, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and G&A functions — driving cost efficiency, supplier excellence, and contract value creation across the organization. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned procurement professional who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented biopharmaceutical environment and is passionate about building scalable, best-in-class sourcing capabilities

What You'll Do
In this role, you will define and execute Insmed's enterprise strategic sourcing strategy, aligned with corporate objectives and pipeline priorities.
You Will Also Have Responsibility For
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leadership and cross-functional business partners on all procurement and sourcing matters
- Develop and continuously improve procurement policies, frameworks, and operating models to support Insmed's growth trajectory
- Lead category management across key spend areas including Clinical Operations, Commercial, IT, and Professional Services
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFI, RFP, RFQ, and competitive bid management, with a focus on indirect/services categories.
- Drive complex, high-value contract negotiations with strategic suppliers, ensuring favorable terms, risk mitigation, and alignment with Insmed's values and compliance standards
- Implement and oversee contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes and tools
- Build and manage a robust supplier performance management program, including KPI tracking, scorecards, and business reviews
- Identify, qualify, and onboard strategic suppliers that align with Insmed's quality, compliance, and ESG standards
- Proactively manage supplier risk across the portfolio, including financial, operational, and geopolitical risk
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team; attract top talent and build organizational capability
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the procurement function
- Develop and maintain spend analytics, benchmarking, and procurement dashboards to drive data-informed decision-making
- Partner with Finance on budget planning, accruals, and procurement-related financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
You hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Life Sciences, or a related field and have 10 years of progressive procurement/strategic sourcing experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
In Addition, You Will Have
- Demonstrated experience in the biopharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry
- Category Strategy Creation and Sourcing in Indirect/Services Categories
- Deep expertise in category management across clinical, commercial, and/or G&A spend categories
- Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement best practices, and supplier risk management
- Experience with procurement technology platforms (e.g., Oracle, Agiloft and ScanMarket)
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
- Professional certification: CPSM, CPM, or equivalent
- Familiarity with GxP procurement requirements and CDMO/CRO contracting
- Experience building or transforming a procurement function from the ground up
