Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology
This position is responsible for scientific leadership & technical oversight in our commercial biologics manufacturing facility. We manufacture specifically for the Animal Health Industry. Position responsibilities include following current GMP and documentation while providing MSAT expertise to the Upstream and Downstream processes.
Duties And Responsibilities
Directly responsible for the technical oversight of veterinary biological production for Est. #345. Directly responsible for the large-scale BSL2 production cycle and standards, including fermentation and cell culture. Lead process and yield improvement efforts, including small-scale trials. Lead by example in safety & aseptic practices, inspections, and improvements. Attention to detail in QAR, PRD, and Outline document review is imperative. Participate in continuous improvement projects including equipment & instrumentation. Lead investigation and root cause analysis regarding OOS, OOT, and OOE. Management of Master seed inventory and reference standard qualifications. Run in-process analytical testing, support serial assay and reference standard review, record deviations, and make engineering change recommendations. Responsible for ensuring compliance with Corporate, USDA, OSHA, Environmental and other required regulatory agencies while achieving manufacturing goals. The individual in this role must have an approach or philosophy to leadership that is inclusive, collaborative, decisive, & technically knowledgeable to create an environment able to collaborate with entire facility. Serve as Leadership and Support role for the Lab Director & Quality.
Education And Experience
Bachelor and/or Post Grad degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline. Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biologics, or related manufacturing environments with progressive leadership experience in technical services, manufacturing sciences, or process engineering. Keen understanding and knowledge, operations, and maintenance of fermentation and bioprocessing bioreactors, tanks, and support equipment. Deep understanding of GDP & GMP and a proven ability to lead high-performing technical teams through complex manufacturing and process-related challenges.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to follow/comply with manufacturing outlines of production, Standard Operating Procedures, and Company/Corporate/Regulatory Policies. Laboratory Inventory supply management and production forecasting experience preferred Demonstrate ability to work effectively with team members and show initiative to support and/or train other employees Work independently on routine tasks with effective time management to meet deadlines Occasional heavy lifting or moving required Strong written and verbal skills Proficient computer-based system skills including PC and Mac Work schedules are an 8-5pm structure Salary Commensurate with Experience

Must Be legally authorized to work in the United Sates without restriction Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required) Must be 18 years of age or older
