The Director, Early Talent Pipeline role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract, engage, and develop early career talent across the organization. This role leads programs targeting externs, interns, recent graduates, and entry-level professionals (including MD, PharmD, PhD candidates), and partners with HR, business units, and educational institutions to build a strong talent pipeline for future organizational needs. This role directly leads these strategies across the US portfolio and will work to establish core standards and approaches for early talent programs globally at AbbVie.

The Director, Early Talent Pipeline role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract, engage, and develop early career talent across the organization. This role leads programs targeting externs, interns, recent graduates, and entry-level professionals (including MD, PharmD, PhD candidates), and partners with HR, business units, and educational institutions to build a strong talent pipeline for future organizational needs. This role directly leads these strategies across the US portfolio and will work to establish core standards and approaches for early talent programs globally at AbbVie.
Responsibilities
- Strategically oversee the design, implementation, and operational excellence of robust early talent programsincluding internships, co-ops, and rotational opportunities.
- Lead the creation and implementation of robust, scalable development programsincluding structured onboarding, learning curricula, mentorship, and accelerated skill-building initiatives.
- Build effective partnerships with universities, colleges, and other educational institutions.
- Develop and monitor program metrics, regularly assessing and refining processes to boost effectiveness and improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with leaders across business functions to align early talent programs with workforce needs.
- Drive branding and outreach initiatives to promote the organization as an employer of choice for early talent.
- Lead with dataanalyze talent metrics, measure program success, and drive continuous improvement.
- Inspire and lead a team responsible for program operations, candidate experience, and post-hire integration.
- Manage program budgets and resources with excellence and accountability.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in business, HR, or related field
- 12 years experience in talent acquisition, university relations, or program management
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to design and scale talent programs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
