Accounting &FinanceInternship Program Overview

As an AbbVieAccounting andFinanceIntern,you willparticipatein a paid,11-week summerprogram,workingon meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide.Ideal candidates will combinetechnical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving.The internship assignments arestructuredwithin four functional areas of the business:

• Commercial:Commercial Finance provides global leadership, guidance, and financial support to AbbVies Commercial operations, including the Allergan Aesthetics business. This organizationforecasts forour key brands in Immunology,Oncology, orNeuroscience and Eye Care. Commercial International Therapeutics helps to supportour globaloperations and planning worldwide.
• Operations:OperationsFinance provides leadership and guidance to Manufacturing, Supply Chain,Purchasingand various other support functions related to financial planning and internal management reporting. The Finance team provides decision support services through analysis of key financial information, while driving operating margin improvement, maximizing tax advantaged product sourcing, andmaintainingan assurance of supply.
• Research & Development:Supports AbbVies Research & Development (R&D) activities with primary focus on pipeline compounds in development, beginning from target and molecule discovery to human clinical study conduct to filing for regulatory approvals in markets around the world, and support of on-market products for new indications and regulatory commitments. R&D Finance isgenerally alignedaround the stages of compound development and its related operating functions.

• Corporate:
• Accounting:The Accounting COE governs AbbVies global accounting function,establishingand monitoring global policy, procedures, and controls for One AbbVie.
• Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):FP&A drives business performance by serving as trusted advisors and partners who influence strategy, enable operation excellence, andmaintaina strongcontrolsenvironment.
• Finance Shared Services:Finance Shared Services governs and supports AbbVies global, standardized, end-to-end, back-office processes,maintainingthe operations and transactional business activities that enable the company to run.
• Internal Audit:Internal Auditprotects and enhances organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight.
• Tax and Global Trade Compliance (GTC):Tax is a trusted business partner that enables our businessby fulfillingtax legal obligations and through collaboration with key finance and operational functions. By managing the domestic and international tax profile, Tax delivers value to the company and shareholders.
• Treasury:Treasury provides centralized and efficient global business support in the areas of banking, foreign exchange, financial risk management,investmentsand capital structure that ensures adequate liquidity for the company and its subsidiaries.In addition to the HQ location in Lake County, Treasury has regional centers in Singapore, the Netherlands, and Colombia.

The majority ofAccounting andFinance Internswill be placed inLake County, IL, though there is a possibility of being placed withinany U.S.AbbViePlacementswill bebased onbusinessneedsand our ability to accommodateindividuals' preferences, when possible. Throughout thesummer,interns willacquirevaluableskills andbe provided with professional development and networking opportunities that will leave a lasting impact. Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelors degree in finance and/oraccounting, with an expected graduation date betweenDecember2027August2028.
• Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with AbbVie.
• Progress towards successfully completing at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation, with one of the coursesbeing focusedon cost or managerial accounting.
• Demonstratedutilizationof Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in academic and/or professional settings.
• Demonstratedleadership experience within a school or student organization setting.
• Mustsubmitunofficialor official transcript attimeof application.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Dualmajor or minor in a related field is a plus.
• Exposureinutilizingsystems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way.
• Exposure todata analysis and ability to perform robust analytics and predictive modeling.
• Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course.
• Ability to use analytical skills to innovatively solve problems.
• Demonstratedability to effectively manage projects within a work and/or academic environment, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
• Proventrack recordof working collaboratively in teams, being adaptable, innovative, proactive, and maintaining high ethical standards.
• Previousinternship or related experience.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
