Position Summary & Responsibilities:
This internship is intended to run from June - December 2025. The selected interns will be expected to work 20 hours per work, around their class schedule, between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. This role will work 50% onsite out of our Salt Lake City office and relocation assistance is not available. The first 2 to 4 weeks will be primarily in-office for training.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern (AI) to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for learning. The intern will report to the Associate Director, Internal Control (ADIC), who reports to the Sr Vice President, Corporate Finance. The AI will work cross-departmentally with the ADIC and Senior Director, Accounting (SDA) to undertake various accounting functions and projects. This internship is open to students actively in school and will be a part-time opportunity for accounting students to get on-hands experience to supplement their education.
- Assist with daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, account/vendor reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes processes, as needed.
- Assist with data preparation for external and internal audits.
- Learn and apply accounting principles and standards.
- Support other Accounting/Finance team members as needed.
- Other projects as assigned by the ADIC or SDA.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
- Must be actively enrolled in an academic program/institution pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher majoring in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Accounting or Finance majors preferred.
- 1 year of experience in Excel, with VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and Finance Functions/Formulas highly desired
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts including Journal Entries, Debits/Credits, and t Tables
- Preference will be given to individuals with working experience in accounting or finance.
- Completion of higher level (upper division) accounting coursework is preferred
