Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ad Hoc Optometrist (OD) to support clinical trials focused on ocular assessments. This role involves performing comprehensive eye examinations, capturing precise ocular measurements, and ensuring adherence to study protocols within a fast-paced research environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in ophthalmology, optical experience, and patient care, contributing to innovative clinical research that advances eye health. Responsibilities

  • Perform slit lamp examinations in accordance with study protocol
  • Conduct visual acuity assessments as required
  • Assess and document ocular findings, including redness and related parameters
  • Support ocular evaluations during study procedures (e.g., allergen challenge assessments)
  • Accurately document findings in source documents and study records
  • Follow study-specific procedures, timelines, and documentation requirements
  • Collaborate with the clinical research team to ensure protocol compliance and participant safety
  • Provide clear instructions to participants and maintain a professional clinical environment

Qualifications

  • Valid optometry license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Skills
  • Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy and anterior segment assessment
  • Proficiency in performing slit lamp examinations
  • Experience conducting standardized ocular assessments
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow structured protocols
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation and data recording
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Strong communication and professionalism when interacting with study participants

Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
