Position Summary
The Husbandry Staff member supports daily vivarium and facility operations, including animal care support, sanitation, supply handling, and facility maintenance. This is a physically active role that requires reliability, consistency, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.
Candidates should be comfortable working on their feet, lifting supplies, moving equipment, cleaning, and performing repetitive operational tasks in a regulated research environment.
Responsibilities
Perform daily husbandry and vivarium support duties
Clean and sanitize animal rooms, cages, and facility equipment
Replenish food, water, bedding, and operational supplies
Move materials and support facility organization
Monitor animal conditions and report concerns to supervisors
Follow SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance procedures
Support inventory management and operational upkeep
Work collaboratively with research and operations teams
Maintain accurate logs and documentation
Qualifications
Strong work ethic and reliability
Physically capable of lifting, cleaning, standing, and moving supplies throughout the shift
Comfortable performing hands-on operational work in a laboratory/vivarium setting
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented and willing to learn
Positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility
Preferred Backgrounds May Include
Biology or animal science students
Military/veteran backgrounds
Candidates with warehouse, operations, gym, farm, or physical labor experience
Individuals interested in healthcare, biotech, veterinary medicine, or research careers
Previous animal care or laboratory experience is a plus but not required. Training will be provided.
