Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Health Data Specialist II to support the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Health Data and Analytics, Centralized Data Hub on the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Rural Health Transformation Grant Program grant deliverables.
Responsibilities
- The position will work with multiple types of data (e.g., birth certificate, hospital discharge) to plan, design, develop, review, deploy, and maintain public-facing rural health focused maternal/child data applications and rural health maps/dashboards as well as a secure data portal for authorized health entities.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and data analytic skills (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS), exceptional coordination skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as epidemiologists and information technologists.
- MS Suite, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS, statistical analysis software (SAS, R, etc.)
- Knowledge: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Maternal/Child Health, Rural Health, and Health Informatics.
- Skills: MS Suite, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS, SAS, R, and AWS (preferred).
- Master s degree in related field

- Position may be eligible to participate in the Department's telework program, which offers eligible employees the opportunity to work remotely for up to two (2) days per week, as approved by management
