You’ll gain experience in cutting-edge clinical diagnostics and learn how research translates into real-world healthcare solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Learn to operate and assess MALDI mass spectrometry and/or cfTNA-based assays using human specimens.
- Explore cancer biology (hematological and solid tumors) and understand assay development for clinical diagnostics.
- Assist with lab workflows and ancillary duties.
- Analyze and synthesize experimental data, troubleshoot results, and maintain a detailed lab notebook.
- Present your findings to the Lab & Executive Leadership Teams at the end of the program.
- Plan and execute experiments under the guidance of our Research Associates & Staff Scientists.
- Keep the lab clean and functional.
- Participate in team meetings and share your project updates.
- Education: Undergraduate students in MCDB, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields.
- Coursework: Biology, genetics, or similar.
- Skills: Familiarity with Excel and Word, strong desire to learn.
- Bonus: Previous lab experience and comfort with math are helpful but not required.
- Training & Support
- Initial 2–3 weeks entirely focused on guided training.
- Daily check-ins with your mentor, progressing toward independent lab work as you gain confidence.
