The Director / Sr. Director – Business Finance will serve as a strategic finance leader and trusted advisor to the North America Commercial organization, supporting a growing biosimilars portfolio in a competitive, US and Canada healthcare landscape.
Role will need deep understanding of market access, buy-and-bill economics, specialty pharmacy and wholesale distribution, ASP modeling, payer and customer contracting, product launch readiness, demand and supply planning, long-range forecasting (LRF), pricing strategy, Gross-to-Net (GTN) management, and portfolio optimization in biotech. The incumbent will partner closely with Commercial, Market Access and Supply Chain teams to drive revenue growth, optimize profitability, and ensure disciplined decision-making in a complex contracting environment. Hence, strong understanding of pharmaceutical channel economics, including wholesalers, specialty distributors, specialty pharmacy, PBMs, payers, providers, GPOs, and customers is a must for the candidate
The role requires a highly analytical and commercially intuitive finance leader, capable of translating payer dynamics, contracting structures, and competitive actions into clear financial insights and strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary finance partner to Commercial, Market Access, and Brand teams. Support portfolio strategy, launch planning, and lifecycle management decisions. Provide financial inputs into brand strategy, demand planning, and channel prioritization. Influence decision-making through data-driven insights on revenue, margin, and ROI
- Lead pricing and contracting financial evaluations, including payer and PBM agreements. Lead financial evaluation of payer contracts, PBM negotiations, and channel agreements. Provide insights on formulary access, rebating structures, and competitive positioning. Assess trade-offs between price, access, and volume realization. Partner with Market Access teams on contract strategy and execution frameworks
- Lead Gross-to-Net (GTN) forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis
- Partner on ASP modeling and analytics, including launch assumptions, price changes, utilization shifts, and channel mix implications
- Lead revenue forecasting and scenario planning based on access and market dynamics. Develop scenario planning models (base/upside/downside). Provide real-time insights on volume ramp-up, market share, and revenue risks/opportunities
- Support new product launches including pricing strategy and financial modeling.
- Deliver monthly business reviews and executive insights on performance.
- Drive profitability analysis and portfolio optimization
- Partner with cross-functional teams for financial planning and decision support
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for North America operations.
- Finance Partner for budget and forecast preparation and variance analysis
- Prepare management reports and participate in presenting results to senior management
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (MBA/CPA preferred)
- 10-15 years of experience in Business Finance / Commercial Finance
- Strong experience in pharma/biotech industry, particularly in US and Canada markets
- Proven track record in business partnering with commercial leadership
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and analytics
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP) and BI tools
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders. Excellent presentation and communication with C-level executives
- High analytical rigor combined with commercial mindset
- Ability to operate in a dynamic, high-growth environment
