Support Community Scientist, Team DiscoveryPosition: Support Community Scientist, Team Discovery Status: Part-time casual (up to 16 hours per week), temporary non-exempt positionUnion: Non-Union position Compensation: $29.92 - $38.91 per hourStart Date: January 5, 2026End Date: June 30, 2026 BioBus, Inc. is currently seeking a temporary casual part-time Support Community Scientist to teach mobile lab science programs up to 2 days a week aboard BioBus’s state-of the art mobile labs. We are seeking someone with a passion for science education to join our Boston Metro Area-based team on a temporary basis.  Company InformationBioBus helps K-12 and college students discover, explore, and pursue science. We focus on students excluded from the scientific community due to factors such as race, gender, economic status, and physical access. Through this work, we envision a world where all people have the opportunity to reach their full scientific potential. We’ve reached 400,000 students at more than 900 schools since 2008, primarily in NYC public and charter schools, as far away as California and more recently we have expanded to the Boston area with a small satellite team based in New England. BioBus students connect with scientists from diverse backgrounds, learn lab and research skills, practice science communication, and take steps to become the next generation of scientists and problem-solvers, making the world better for all of us. Our students access and become part of the scientific community through introductory science labs aboard our mobile labs at their schools; after-school, weekend, and summer programs; and year-long internships. Our recent expansion in the Bronx is poised to provide a full pathway of programs for students in the Bronx. Part-Time Temporary Support Community Scientist Qualifications  Minimum Qualifications●       Education: Bachelor’s degree, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience●       A passion for science and education!●       Willingness to learn new skills●       Very organized and responsible  Preferred Qualifications●       Education: Bachelor’s degree, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a science-related field ●       Ability to communicate scientific concepts to children and young adults●       One year of scientific research laboratory experience or two semesters of college level laboratory course work●       Proficiency in Spanish●   Flexibility to work on weekends  ResponsibilitiesTeach BioBus mobile lab programs up to 2 days a week aboard mobile labs which involves:●       Teaching introductory classes, with another more senior BioBus Scientist, volunteers, and facilities team support. The Support Community Scientist will work with students to facilitate hands-on activities using state-of-the-art microscopes.●       Traveling to diverse neighborhoods across the Boston Metro Area●       Working with students grades PreK-12●       Interacting with many students per week●       Imbuing students with a passion for open-ended exploration of the natural world●       Staff public programs for a diverse audience●       Getting background clearance from the Boston Metro Area public schools systemCompensationThe hourly rate range is  $29.92 - $38.91 based on experience. We expect this position to work an estimated 0-16 hrs/wk. Compensation at BioBus is competitive, commensurate with experience, and is in alignment with internal equity.
