Company Technical Sales Representative –
California ( Salinas / San Francisco / Sacramento area)
We are seeking a results-driven, commercially minded and motivated Technical Sales Representative to support our efforts in expanding our company’s activities in North-Central California.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, winning new business, building strong relationships with customers, and identifying new market opportunities.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted partner to growers while driving adoption and commercial success of biological pest management programs, strengthening BioBee’s presence in the region.
The role includes but not limited to:
Sales and service of beneficial insects, mites and beneficial nematodes in crops markets such as ornamental plants, Berries, vegetable, leafy greens, soft fruits and tree fruits.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Market Development
· Strong sales acumen with a proven ability to close deals and navigate decision-making structures beyond the technical level.
· Accountable for achieving defined revenue, margin, and growth targets within the territory.
· Drive new business development by proactively identifying, targeting, and converting new growers and accounts.
· Develop and execute short- and long-term sales strategies to grow market share.
· Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring full visibility and forecasting accuracy.
· Provide product recommendations based on pest pressure, crop type, and environmental factors.
· Actively promote BioBee’s full biological solutions portfolio through demos, presentations, and in-field activities.
· Full ownership of territory performance, including sales, customer satisfaction, and market development.
· Ability to quantify value and ROI for growers, translating biological solutions into clear economic outcomes.
· Manage pricing, discounts, and commercial terms in alignment with company margin objectives.
· Actively position BioBee solutions against competitors.
Technical Support & IPM Services
· Deliver exceptional technical service through crop walks, scouting, and pest diagnosis.
· Assist in writing, biocontrol recommendations and follow-up.
· Train growers and distributors on product usage and IPM protocols.
· Troubleshoot pest control challenges.
· Collaborate with internal teams and R&D.
Relationship Management
· Maintain strong relationships with growers and distributors.
· Develop and manage distributor partnerships.
· Represent BioBee at industry events.
· Coordinate with internal teams for execution.
Reporting & Strategic Input
· Report on market intelligence and competitor activity.
· Provide input on competitors’ pricing and positioning.
· Adhere to CRM, forecasting, and communication standards.
Required Skills / Experience:
· Preferably agronomy degree or BA/BS degree in horticulture, agriculture, or similar experience. MS degree is a plus.
· Demonstrated success in a quota-carrying sales role, preferably within agricultural inputs or biological products.
· Experience in ag inputs / biologicals preferred.
· Strong understanding of grower economics.
· Distributor experience advantage.
· IPM and crop protection knowledge.
· Ability to work independently.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills.
· Willingness to travel up to 60%.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Based in California.
· Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving ability.
· Physically able to work in greenhouses and farms; walk long distances.
