The BioEducation group at Bio-Rad is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated college student to join our R&D team. This internship provides hands-on experience in product development, with the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of engaging laboratory activities used in high school and college life science classrooms and teaching laboratories around the world.

Compensation: The hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. How You’ll Make An Impact
- Conduct microbiology and molecular biology experiments in a laboratory setting to evaluate the development potential of various technical approaches for the target product.
- Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose creative solutions for scientific challenges.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to inform and influence decisions related to product design and development.
- Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to audiences with varying levels of subject-matter expertise.
What You Bring:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related life science discipline.
- 3.0 Minimum GPA.
- Rising Juniors, Seniors, and Masters Students.
- Be willing to make a full-time commitment of 40 hours a week for 9 weeks from June 15 to August 14, 2026.
- Practical knowledge of and hands-on experience with microbiology techniques including bacterial culturing and quantitation, aseptic technique, media preparation, microscopy.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques including spectrophotometry, microtiter plate handling, DNA extraction, PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Meticulous attention to detail and lab notebooking.
- Excellent analytical skills (critical thinking, pattern and data analysis, problem solving) and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to learn quickly, desire to collaborate in a team environment.
