Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, evaluate, and designate raw cannabis plant material into various production batches.
  • Prepare biomass for extraction, including trimming, freezing, grinding, or packing material, as directed.
  • Extract plant material into various products using the Company's closed-loop hydrocarbon extraction system (Precision PX1) with hydrocarbon gases (butane, propane), following all applicable laws and guidelines, including Company standard operating procedures.
  • Use nitrogen, isopropyl alcohol, ethanol, and dry ice as directed throughout the extraction, winterization, and post-processing workflow.
  • Operate vacuum ovens to purge/remove residual solvent, post-process, and decarboxylate oil to specification.

  • Properly handle hydrocarbon gases, solvents, and other chemicals, and follow safe guidelines for chemical use, storage, and waste in accordance with all applicable laws.
  • Perform quality assurance and control point checks to ensure that all products are properly produced, free of contamination, within acceptable aesthetic quality standards, and in compliance with all applicable laws and Company standard operating procedures.
  • Perform analytic-based procedures, including but not limited to testing plant materials, extracts, and infused products.
  • Ensure proper sampling, tracking, and testing of produced products, including all in-house reference, shelf life, and other product validation tests, in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Package and label products properly and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Aid the production/kitchen team when necessary.
  • Notify the Extraction Manager of any discrepancies, low inventories, maintenance requirements, equipment malfunctions/failures, chemical spills, broken glassware, etc.
  • Ensure all production activity is approved, properly logged, and recorded, including any applicable research, development, or other events, variables, or produced materials of notable interest.
  • Consistently strive to maintain and improve product quality, efficiency, and compliance, and note any areas of potential improvement.
  • Be familiar with and follow all applicable laws.
