Summary
Lead and manage the Jackson Order Picking and Shipping functions to achieve continual customer satisfaction, optimize efficiency, quality, ISO compliance, and on time shipments as measured by Jackson’s goal of 98% On Time. The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily distribution operations, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, timely deliveries, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety standards. This role supervises warehouse and transportation staff to achieve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
1. Team Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise warehouse staff, drivers, and distribution workers
- Assign daily tasks and monitor performance
- Train new employees on procedures and safety standards
- Handle employee scheduling and attendance
- Complete annual goals and performance evaluations for staff
2. Inventory & Order Management
- Oversee order picking, packing, and dispatching
- Ensure inventory accuracy and conduct regular stock checks
- Coordinate with procurement and sales departments
- Minimize stock discrepancies and product damage
3. Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Plan delivery routes and schedules
- Coordinate vehicle loading and dispatch
- Monitor fleet operations and driver performance
- Ensure timely deliveries and resolve transportation issues
4. Compliance & Safety Management
- Enforce workplace health and safety regulations
- Ensure proper handling of goods (especially fragile or hazardous items)
- Conduct safety inspections and training
- Maintain compliance with company and government policies
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track KPIs (on-time delivery rate, lines picked and shipped, order to ship lead time, order accuracy, inventory turnover)
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly performance reports
- Identify operational inefficiencies
- Implement process improvements to reduce costs
6. Customer & Supplier Coordination
- Address customer delivery concerns
- Communicate with suppliers regarding shipment schedules
- Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations.
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with inventory control procedures.
- Understanding of transportation and fleet coordination.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, reporting tools).
