This role is focused on supporting cardiometabolic drug discovery initiatives, specifically in the areas of obesity, diabetes, and related diseases. The position requires a strong background in in vitro pharmacology, including mammalian cell culture, cell-based functional assays, assay development, transient transfections, and stable cell line generation. Responsibilities include validating new therapeutic targets, characterizing novel compounds, developing and optimizing biochemical and enzymatic assays, and supporting laboratory setup and operations in a collaborative research environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with techniques such as qPCR, western blotting, FACS, HTRF, ELISA, and assay automation using plate readers and liquid handling systems. Candidates should possess strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications include industry experience, exposure to multiple therapeutic modalities and target classes, and familiarity with cardiometabolic disease biology. A BS or MS degree in biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field with 8–10 years of laboratory experience is required.
