We seek a team member with graphics art experience with Adobe Suites, Photoshop and other leading graphic arts software. An understanding of both screen printing and large format digital printing for the production of custom office supplies and promotional products is a plus. Candidate must have a willingness to learn, support a team, and demonstrate a "can do" attitude. This is a part-time role, in office.
Summary
As a Production Art File Manager for our printing process, you will be integral to the manufacturing process and ensuring efficient operation on the assembly line. Reporting to the VP of Business Development your core skills in artwork management and printing operations support will be essential for tasks to enable both screen printing and large format digital printing. Responsibilities
1. File Preparation & Prepress
- Review incoming artwork for completeness and technical accuracy
- Convert and optimize files for manufacturing requirements (color profiles, resolution, bleed, layers, formats, etc.)
- Prepare press-ready / production-ready files according to equipment specifications
2. File Management & Version Control
- Maintain structured file systems with strict naming conventions
- Control versioning to ensure only approved files are released to production
- Archive and track historical versions for traceability
3. Production Alignment
- Translate design intent into manufacturable output
- Ensure compatibility with production equipment (printing, cutting, CNC, etc.)
- Flag and resolve issues before files reach the production floor
4. Quality Control
- Perform preflight checks on all files
- Validate dimensions, color accuracy, fonts, linked assets, and layers
- Ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work directly with design, engineering, and production teams
- Communicate required adjustments clearly and quickly
- Act as the final checkpoint before manufacturing begins
6. Process Improvement
- Standardize workflows for file handling and preparation
- Identify recurring errors and implement preventative fixes
Maintain documentation and SOPs for file preparation
The person we seek can demonstrate the below Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of prepress and production workflows
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Knowledge of file formats (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, DXF, etc.)
- Color management (CMYK, RGB, Pantone)
- High attention to detail and error detection
- Process-oriented thinking and organization discipline
- Ability to work under production deadlines
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18.0 – 22.0 per week
