Job description
The Shift Lead reports to the area Supervisor. Responsibilities include making the proper adjustments to ensure product quality and efficient operation. This position is critical in producing a quality product and will be responsible for communicating with other team members to ensure that the product being produced meets all requirements. Including but not limited to; following all safety and work procedures; clean equipment and/or workstations; perform daily inspections of equipment and complete required forms; and other duties assigned.
Work Schedule
- 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Pittman Schedule (3-2-2-3) – Rotating weekends
- Training would be conducted on Day Shift for a minimum of 3 months
Responsibilities
- Enforce and follow safety and work procedures.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
- Set up and adjust machines and equipment.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
- Clean industrial equipment and work stations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) - Required
- Must be dependable and show ability to take direction.
- Communication - Must be able to communicate well with both employees and management staff
- Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Conflict Resolution – Must be able to effectively handle situations in the workplace where there are differences in opinion and engage management/HR when necessary.
