Position Overview

Binderholz Enfield is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic / Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanic who is skilled in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of heavy equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the continued reliability and performance of our machinery, which is essential for the operation of our plant.


Work Schedule

  • 5:45 AM to 6:15 PM Pittman Schedule (3-2-2-3) – Rotating weekends 


Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment, including forklifts, log handling equipment, and other motorized mill machinery.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to identify mechanical faults.
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty parts and components with precision.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments, to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics for complex repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Report and document damaged or faulty equipment to management promptly.
  • Always follow all safety protocols and work procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
  • 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
  • Strong hands-on experience with heavy machinery and diesel engines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and in a high-noise environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform essential physical tasks, including walking, bending, and climbing stairs.
  • Strong computer literacy for managing machine control systems and software updates.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be dependable.
