Job Description:
The EHS Assistant will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining of the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Cleaning of the facility areas.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Clean building floors by sweeping or vacuuming.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Drives road sweeper and small wheel loader for cleaning.
- Cleans rainwater shafts.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Sweeping and shoveling up sawdust.
- Picking up and/or throwing away boards.
- Dust machines and/or equipment.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 2 years of janitorial experience preferred
Skills
- Attention to detail (required)
- Ability to coordinate and work as a team
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be dependable and show ability to take direction.
- Able to work flexible schedules and long hours.
- Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures, in loud, high volume environment.
- Perform essential functions of job that includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
