Description
This position allows the student to support PLC code updates, cycle-time modeling, arc-time calculation, and the development of a visual communication system in Hall G. These projects improve operator visibility, reduce rework, increased equipment uptime, and provide immediate operational benefits. At the same time, they give the student invaluable hands-on exposure to real industrial controls work.

- Assist with PLC coding updates and troubleshooting for small ME-driven Automation projects.
- Develop and validate arc-time calculation tools to improve welding-time accuracy
- Design and prototype a visual light notification system (e.g. status lights, takt indicators) for Hall G
- Support testing, wiring, and integration of simple automation hardware
- Document controls changes and create lightweight reference guides for ME/production
