Maintenance Purchasing Clerk I

1. Places orders for parts insuring timely and accurate receipt.
2. Provides Purchase Orders and reconciles to billing invoices.
3. Uses approved suppliers and validates vendors to insure high quality products and competitive pricing.
4. Compares Purchase Orders with products received to insure accuracy.
5. Follow up on orders for timely receipt.
6. Coordinates information flow with vendors, Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, Mechanics and Accounting.
7. Notify Management of any deviations, difficulties and inventory issues.
8. Abide by all GMP’s, Personal and Food Safety Rules (BRC Standard).
9. Other duties that may be assigned by appropriate management.

High School graduate or its equivalency in experience and/or training and one year parts and inventory experience. Knowledge of Excel and Word computer programs. Basic math and writing skills as well as a knowledge of mechanical parts and their use. 

1. Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery.
2. Able to sit for prolonged periods
3. Able to negotiate stairs while carrying packages up to 50 pounds
4. Able to work in temperatures from 90 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels as high as 98%.
5. Able to stoop, bend and crouch on a regular basis to check equipment or supplies in low-lying areas.
6. Able to lift 60 pounds once an hour and 10 to 50 pounds repeatedly.
7. Able to raise arms overhead repeatedly while lifting 30 pounds.
