Position Summary:
This position will ensure that Direct Materials (ingredients and packaging) are on-hand and available for use in the bakery’s manufacturing process. Ensure that the amounts and weights of ingredients, packaging material and supplies received through receiving are correct compared to receiving documents and company purchase order. All the above duties will be done following established GMP, Food Safety, and Personal Safety and Quality policies/procedures. If there are equipment/food safety problems, the Receiving Supervisor will notify Management.

Position Summary:

Key Job Responsibilities
- Establish inventory levels that both maintain stability within the plant’s operations and create an economical reduction in the inventory value and cost.
- Analyze, monitor and forecast material inventories and consumptions to ensure proper levels of materials and maintained
- Planning, generating, scheduling, and tracking of purchase orders with approved suppliers on behalf of Bimbo Bakeries USA
- Physical inventory (stocktaking): determining and recording (by weighing, counting, measuring, or estimating) existing quantities of materials in order to establish the levels of stock actually on hand and entering inventory into Oracle.
- Verify quality and quantity of all outside direct material deliveries following established company policies.
- Organizes and maintain a direct material storage area with visibility and access to all materials
- Perform monthly food safety, personnel safety, and communication training, coordinate monthly weight analysis.
- Supervise, coach and train receiving associates and assist with the receiving clerk responsibilities as needed
- Experience or training in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Must have the ability to drive continuous improvement with no supervision.
- Knowledge of Company SOPs in the handling of direct materials
- Team player with initiative plus have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the job. Specific tasks require standing for long periods, climbing, reaching above shoulders, walking, kneeling, bending and twisting.
- High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
- Organizational skills
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with SAP & Excel required (Oracle a plus)
- Must have proficient math skills to perform basic arithmetic.
