The Sales Representative is responsible for generating leads, developing customer relationships, and selling modular homes to residential and commercial clients. This position guides customers through the entire sales process, including product selection, pricing, financing coordination, contract execution, and project follow-up. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering excellent customer service.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development

  • Generate new sales leads through walk-ins, referrals, online inquiries, community events, and marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct consultations with prospective buyers to determine housing needs, budgets, timelines, and site requirements.
  • Present modular home models, floor plans, customization options, pricing, and upgrade packages.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects to close sales opportunities.
  • Maintain sales goals and monthly performance targets.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, contractors, developers, and referral partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales and pre-construction process.
  • Provide regular updates to customers regarding scheduling, permitting, production, and delivery timelines.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with drafting, engineering, estimating, production, transportation, and installation teams.
  • Assist customers with site preparation requirements, permitting processes, utility coordination, and financing referrals.
  • Ensure all contracts, change orders, selections, and approvals are completed accurately.
  • Maintain detailed customer files and sales documentation.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain a strong understanding of modular home construction methods, building codes, pricing structures, and available product lines.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, financing programs, and market conditions.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of modular construction versus traditional site-built homes.

Administrative Duties

  • Enter and maintain customer information in CRM systems.
  • Prepare contracts, purchase agreements, and sales reports.
  • Track leads, pending projects, closings, and customer communications.
  • Participate in sales meetings and ongoing training programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous sales experience required; construction, manufactured housing, or modular home sales experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Basic understanding of residential construction and building terminology.
  • Ability to read floor plans and specifications preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM software, and email communication.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of financing and mortgage processes.
  • Experience working with builders, developers, or real estate professionals.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel to customer sites, model centers, and project locations.
  • Ability to walk construction sites and model homes.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary plus commission structure.
  • Performance bonuses and incentives.

Work Environment

  • Office, model home center, and construction site environment.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required to meet customer schedules and attend events or home shows.

Pay: $50,458.92 - $120,896.77 per year
