The Construction Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing, enforcing, and monitoring all safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements. This position plays a key role in incident prevention, risk mitigation, safety training, and fostering a culture of safety across all construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance & Oversight
- Enforce OSHA 29 CFR 1926 regulations and all applicable federal, state, and local safety laws.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections.
- Identify, document, and correct hazardous conditions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce company safety policies.
- Maintain all safety documentation, logs, and reports.
Training & Education
- Conduct toolbox talks, newhire orientations, and safety training sessions.
- Train workers on OSHArequired topics, including fall protection, electrical safety, hazard communication, scaffolding, and equipment operation.
- Ensure employees are properly certified for specialized tasks.
Incident Response & Investigation
- Respond immediately to incidents, nearmisses, and emergencies.
- Lead accident investigations and rootcause analysis.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow up to ensure corrective actions remain effective.
Risk Management
- Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pretask planning.
- Review and analyze site safety plans, subcontractor safety documentation, and projectspecific safety requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings with managers and subcontractors.
Communication & Leadership
- Collaborate with project leadership to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Serve as the primary onsite safety resource for workers and supervisors.
- Communicate safety concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist with internal and external safety audits.

Qualifications
Required
- OSHA 30Hour Construction Certification (OSHA 500/510 preferred).
- 2 years of construction safety or related field experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
- Ability to recognize site hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- CHST, STSC, CSHO, or other professional safety certifications.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or civil construction.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
