Job Summary
The Winery Production Staff 1 position will support wine production at the Biltmore Wine Company. Specific assignments may be within and across bottling, the warehouse, and/or the cellar, and can include: order preparation/delivery; invoicing; bottling; wine disgorging; fermentation; crushing; and barrel work. All assignments within the production process must comply with local, state, and federal regulations and should contribute to Biltmore's mission of offering world-class products to guests. The Winery Product Staff 1 position will also provide general assistance and support to the department, leadership, and the company.
Full-time: a position working 35 hours per week.
Schedules can vary but are generally 7 am - 3:30 pm, M-F.

Essential Job Duties
Warehouse
- Prepare (build, wrap, and load pallets) and deliver orders.
- Accurately fill and invoice orders.
- Fulfill marketing special requests.
- Assist with end-of-month inventory and reporting.
- Work bottling line
- Work the Sparkling Wine disgorging line.
- Clean the bottling area
- Assist in sanitizing bottling and filtration equipment
- Movement of inventory
- Assist with crush/harvest equipment
- Support fermentation and cold stabilization processes
- Unload tankers.
- Sample and measure tanker volumes.
- Top, empty, fill, hydrate, and wash barrels.
- Clean tanks and cellar
- Keep assigned area clean and organized
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Comply with safety measures and procedures.
- Possess general knowledge of winery equipment and equipment operation.
- Understand wine-making processes within other departments.
- Able to certify on forklift operation.
- Assist winemakers with other winemaking duties, as needed.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Provide general assistance and support to departmental leadership and the company as required.
- High school diploma. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred. Must be able to certify on forklift operation. A combination of education/experience may be considered.
- Basic knowledge of wine-making, wine warehouse, and/or wine bottling experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world-class internal/external guest service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to convey information, including technical data, clearly, concisely, and effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills; ability to prioritize work under a deadline and adjust accordingly, as situations change.
- Ability to be proactive, take initiative, and troubleshoot is essential; good judgment when anticipating and addressing issues.
- Keen attention to detail with a focus on quality and service.
- Ability to work as a team player but also independently, if required, in a fast-paced production environment.
- Must have or be able to obtain forklift certification.
- Valid driver's license and must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
- Ability to work effectively for 8-hour shifts and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders to access tanks, machinery, and equipment.
