The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.32/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Reserve: a position averaging 20 hours a week (anywhere between 40-999 hours per year).
The Biltmore Sign Services Staff will be responsible for all aspects of signage design, development, printing, installation, maintenance, and cleaning across the Biltmore Estate. Duties include, but are not limited to: designing new signage in accordance with Biltmore standards, printing and producing signs, installing signs, and maintenance & cleaning of current Estate signage. The Sign Specialist will also work with vendors to manage pricing and maintain invoices. In addition, the incumbent will provide general assistance and support for leadership, the department, and the company as required.

Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED). Additional training or certification(s) preferred. Must be able to measure accurately, and do basic math.
- At least six (6) months of previous sign maintenance experience; experience with making/installing signage a plus. Knowledge of standard maintenance, repair, and/or general plumbing/electrical preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world class internal/external guest service through providing clean and immaculate facilities for guest use.
- Outstanding attention to detail with a focus on quality and service. Must be able to read work order and make signs to exact specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to take direction, and communicate clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a guest service team.
- Proactive, takes initiative where appropriate, and exercises good judgment.
- Prioritizes, multi-tasks, and works effectively under deadlines; adapts as needed.
- Must have signage software knowledge and be able to learn Biltmore's systems and protocols.
- Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver's license.
- Quickly and accurately design, produce, and install all types of signs with finishing including laminating, hand trimming, drilling, routing, and printer/large format CNC cutting as required by the work order and/or Biltmore standards.
- Clean, maintain and install Estate signage and directional installations.
- Process new signage requests via work-orders.
- Order and maintain sign materials, supplies, and ink and ensure equipment is kept in good operating condition.
- Maintain invoicing and determine pricing with signage vendors.
- Assist with special events, functions, and projects (e.g. Christmas candlelight).
- Maintains assigned areas in accordance with Biltmore standards.
- Safely operates all equipment as outlined in SOP manual.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally.
- Ability to stand/walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead and below throughout the duration of a shift.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolding as needed.
- Visual acuity and the ability to respond to a variety of stimuli appropriately.
- Ability to work effectively with exposure to dust, dirt, foul odors, extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions, using the proper safety and protective equipment.
- Ability to safely operate mechanical equipment and to read and comprehend material safety data (MSD) sheets.
