The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.32/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
Reserve: a position working an average of 20 hours per week (anywhere between 40-999 hours per year).
The Retail Sales Assistant is responsible for sales, exceptional guest service and accurate cash register operations. This includes assisting guests with making their selections, checking inventory locations for guests, up-selling and cross selling, and increasing revenues. Other responsibilities include opening and closing the shops, performing assigned side work, restocking merchandise and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the shops. The incumbent will also provide general support and assistance to the leadership, department, and company.
Schedules can vary but are generally 6-8 hour shifts, 3 days a week. Shifts can be between the hours of 8:00 am-11:00 pm, . Weekend and evening schedule availability is a requirement for this position.

- Previous retail and/or customer service experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of prior retail or guest service experience in an upscale/luxury setting.
- Exceptional guest relation and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sale (POS) system. Previous experience with cash handling helpful.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing world class guest service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest service environment as part of a team.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs, be proactive, and take initiative where appropriate.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and multi-task.
- Some locations may require special skills or experience and/or may have age requirements or restrictions.
- Standing and walking for the majority of time (85%).
- Ability to lift 25lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- High energy and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Greet and welcome all guests. Do all possible to make each guests visit memorable and pleasant.
- Efficiently handle of large sums of money.
- Open and close the retail shops.
- Clean and organize shop to keep shop presentable and representative of the Biltmore brand at all times.
- Familiarize and keep knowledge of all shop merchandise, old and new, up to date as often as possible.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Provide exceptional guest service.
- Exhibit proper phone/radio etiquette.
