Deer Valley Surgical and Endoscopy Center, an HonorHealth -Sovereign Healthcare joint-venture free-standing ambulatory surgery center located in Phoenix, AZ is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses.
Full-Time and position available.
Operating Room RN
The Operating Room RN will provide direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patients.
Specialties include: Orthopedics, Podiatry, ENT, GYN, Urology, General and Plastic Reconstructive
Essential Functions
- Prepares surgical suite supplies and equipment to ensure the needs of the surgical team are met
- Utilizes equipment according manufacturer’s recommendations and facility policies and procedures
- Monitors, positions, and assists during procedures
- Ability to address all aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- Ensures on-going communication with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and other members of the surgical team
- Assists with the preparation and turnover of room to ensure optimal efficiency
- Ensure the O.R.’s are adequately stocked for cases
- Pulls cases for next day when requested
- Provides input regarding equipment needs and supplies
- Demonstrates cost containment techniques
- Utilizes time effectively
- Adheres to established safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Demonstrates good judgement and reasoning when investigating and solving problems
- Demonstrates excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Provides and maintains an organized field and physical environment following infection control guidelines and policies and procedures.
- Works well with supervisor and all others in positions of authority
- Promotes a high degree of cooperation, communication and coordination with other employees and physicians
Skills and Requirements
- Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.
- One year recent Operating Room experience preferred
