- PROVIDES INFORMATION BY:
- Receiving incoming phone calls from schools, parents and community members
- Notifying parents and schools that their student has been brought to the Truancy Center and give pertinent details
- Interpreting and implementing truancy laws to parents, school staff and community agencies
- Relaying and gathering information from the County Superintendent’s Office
- Gathering and dispensing information to Law Enforcement
- Gathering and dispensing information to Social Services
- Gathering and dispensing information to Juvenile Probation/Parole
- Updating parents and school staff on students’ progress while at the Center
- Gathering and dispensing data and information to all school administrators
- PROVIDES CLERICAL ASSISTANCE BY:
- Completing forms on students brought to the Center
- Entering all data into the computer data base
- Writing reports to schools and law enforcement regarding their students brought to the enter
- Orders supplies
- Maintains upkeep on supplies
- Manages the Center budget
- Reconciles P-Cards
- PROVIDES SERVICES TO STUDENTS BY:
- Communicating to parents and students about their problems and offering resources and alternatives
- Assisting and supervising all students while at the Center
- Serving lunches and maintaining the upkeep of the Center
- Monitoring student work
- Escorts in and out of the Center
- By making referrals to social services and counselors when necessary
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises students
- Supervises assistant
- Supervises truancy deputy

$25.07/hour for 90-day probationary period, then $27.85/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma; Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology or other related field preferred; five years related work experience and/or combination of education and experience; special knowledge, skills and abilities in computers; interpersonal communication; problem-solving; and behavior management.
