Billings Middle School is seeking a middle school boys basketball coach for the 25-26 season, from November 3rd, 2025 through January 16th, 2026 with potential to extend into the girls season.
Billings is an independent school in the Pinehurst area of North Seattle. Billings faculty embody a professional model of collegiality and innovation and contribute to the understanding and development of best practices for early adolescent teaching. Through our expeditionary, interdisciplinary, and applied learning curriculum, our talented faculty members support students to think critically, problem-solve and empower them to be independent learners ready to take on the challenges of high school.
Pay: Stipend $1750/season (approximately $35/hour)
Season: 11/4 - 1/16 with potential to extend to girls’ season
Hours: Practice on Mondays and Wednesdays 3:45-5:15, 9 games max (mostly scheduled during these windows although some will be on different days)
Key Requirements:
Coaching candidates should have experience working with middle school students and experience in the sport they are coaching. All candidates are responsible for creating a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging sporting environment for their team.
Other Qualifications:
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Ability to collaborate and implement lesson plans
- Exercise good judgement, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality
- Meet responsibilities in punctual and reliable manner
- Prior experience working with youth
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Complete fingerprinting & background checks
- CPR Certified or able to obtain CPR certification obtained with 30 days of employment
- Complete school-provided safety training
- Ability to drive students in a 14 passenger vehicle
