SUMMARY
A Buyer / Receiver plays a critical role in procurement and receiving operations, ensuring the timely acquisition, verification, and tracking of parts, materials, and supplies. This role ensures that BFS’ purchasing activities are accurate, cost-effective, and compliant, while incoming shipments are properly received, inspected, and documented. The position interfaces with multiple departments and vendors to support efficient supply chain operations and maintain inventory integrity in support of aviation requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
· Creating, processing, and tracking purchase orders for materials and services, including but not limited to:
Aircraft Parts and Components
Shop Supplies and Consumables
Tooling and Equipment
Vendor Services
· Coordinating with vendors to obtain quotes, confirm pricing, and ensure on-time delivery
· Monitoring order status and resolving delays, discrepancies, or back-orders
· Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments for accuracy, condition, and documentation
· Ensuring proper documentation, certification, and traceability of aviation parts (as applicable)
· Accurately entering receiving data into company systems and updating inventory records
· Coordinating with accounting to reconcile invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders
· Managing returns, exchanges, and vendor discrepancies
· Maintaining organized records of purchasing and receiving activities
· Supporting inventory control through cycle counts and reconciliation efforts
· Coordinating with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure material availability
· Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
· Based upon need and demonstrated skill:
· Supporting supplier performance tracking and cost-saving initiatives
· Assisting with process improvements in procurement and receiving workflows
· Supporting audits and documentation requirements for regulated environments
SKILLS AND ABILITIES (MINIMUM)
· Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
· Strong Communication: Ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams
· Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in purchasing, receiving, and documentation
· Adaptability: Managing shifting priorities and supply chain challenges
· Problem-Solving: Resolving discrepancies in orders, shipments, and invoices

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· A minimum of one to two years of experience in purchasing, receiving, warehouse, or supply chain operations preferred
· (PREFERRED) Experience in aviation, manufacturing, or regulated environments
· (PREFERRED) Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement software, or inventory management systems
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· Valid driver’s license required
· US citizenship required
