WANTED: Certified Veterinary Technician This is an advanced level position requiring extensive technical knowledge, skill and independence of action in support of the daily operational needs in all areas of the Billings Animal Family Hospital. While we are looking for a skilled individual, we are looking for someone with a fun personality, someone who is interested in helping us fulfill our vision of providing the BEST care in the Billings area, someone who can laugh and occasionally cry – because this profession is full of ups and downs.
Responsibilities (day-to-day activities include but are not limited to):
- Educating clients about keeping their furry family members healthy
- Holding furry friends for various procedures
- Cheerfully greeting clients and answering the phone
- Running cool lab/blood tests using our in-house Heska Laboratory
- Assisting with exciting cases and treating hospitalized patients
- Utilizing our computerized medical records in Pulse
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment
- Qualifications: Must have a license or certification to work as a Veterinary Technician. The will to grow and learn (no day is the same!). Ability to hold great conversation with almost complete strangers (a.k.a. an out-going person who loves people!). Ability to perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, read fecal samples and ear discharge cytology, administer anesthesia, take radiographs, perform dental cleanings, etc. (a.k.a. the really fun stuff!) Be a team player (because there is no 'I' in team!). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. And of course, you should love dogs and cats…we love them too.
