Summary Description
The Mill IT Specialist delivers IT solutions to infrastructure support in a large manufacturing environment with remote offices and manufacturing sites containing highly integrated manufacturing systems. including systems/network administration, business analysis, and requirements gathering, system configuration, intermediate break/fix, analysis & troubleshooting, security administration, systems/network monitoring and documentation.

Qualifications
Key Accountabilities:
Under General Supervision
- Perform analytical, technical, and administrative work to aid in the on-going support of the infrastructure environment, including installing, maintaining, supporting, and administering critical business and manufacturing systems/networks and telecommunications
- Troubleshoot application issues and create innovative solutions. Using standard problem management tools and processes, document problem resolution at each key step.
- Provide subject matter expertise as it relates to Billerud’s business and associated systems
- Assists users; troubleshoots issues; communicates and trains as necessary.
- Play a role on infrastructure teams
- Provide on-site or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problems
- Create ad-hoc reports, data mining, and general support with application issues
- Participates in a project environment
- Coordinate with peers, both locally and across business locations and may direct others during short projects
- Participate in field trials, including involvement with suppliers
- Participate in Lean Six sigma projects – be the voice of IT
- Play a role on manufacturing/business teams, establishing and maintaining a partnership to understand business goals and issues.
- Responsible for leading small to medium sized manufacturing/business/information technology initiatives
- Ensure results are delivered on-time, within budget
- Meet overall business requirement
Required Experience And Education
Minimum Required Experience and Education:
- AS/BS/BA in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of Information Technology experience preferred but not required.
- BS in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum Required Skills:
- Strong Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Servers and Microsoft Office
