Job Description
Duties of the Job –
Assist Journeymen in performing maintenance on dam structures and Tainter gates
Assist in maintaining and rebuilding hydroelectric generation machinery and associated auxiliary equipment
Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems
Weld, solder, cut, and heat as required
Maintain housekeeping standards throughout CWPCo owned facilities
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications
On-The-Job Requirements -
Must successfully complete State Indentured Millwright Apprenticeship Program with classroom and on-the-job related instruction.
Work in confined places
Do a considerable amount of bending, stooping, reaching, turning and twisting.
Climb and work in high places.
Work with hazardous materials.
Work in extreme temperatures.
Follow all safety policies and requirements.
Learn and know how to use welding, heating, and cutting tools and equipment.
Learn blueprint reading and schematic diagrams.
Be able to work overtime, Sundays, and holidays as required.
Respond to call ins as requested.
Must work in substations with qualified personnel.
Comply with company respirator policy.
Be able to effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
Learn the use of CMMS programs
Personal qualities
Qualifications -
Be able to lift 50‑100 lbs. regularly.
Have a valid Wisconsin driver's license and be able to drive.
Possess ambulatory capabilities to move freely about the sites in carrying out responsibilities.
Preference may be given to candidates with applicable experience in the maintenance of dam structures, dam auxiliaries and hydro generating units.
