What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician position at Billerica Public Schools?
This position is 35 hours per week (7 hours per day with a 1/2 unpaid lunch break). This is a group 4 position. Please view the salary classifications/schedule which can be found on our website under Human Resources - collective bargaining agreements. The RBT is responsible to work directly with students who have behavioral needs by implementing behaviorally based interventions within the educational environment.
The RBT is expected to collect appropriate data, work collaboratively with the BCBA and other providers, demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in all aspects of the position, and have strong communication skills.REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education, Assistant Director of Special Education, Preschool DirectorESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Provide direct instruction of behavior strategies to students, including positive reinforcement and differential reinforcement across educational settings.2. Demonstrate appropriate behavioral interventions, including proper CPI interventions to ensure student safety; ability to manage severe or significant disruptive behavior3. Collect and evaluate data using direct and indirect methods.4.
Assess and monitor the generalization of intervention and supports across settings and staff members.5. Provide consultation and support for BIPs and FBAs.6. Assist in the development of intervention plans as appropriate.7. Prepare notes and reports using objective data and observations, strategies and data8.
Collaborate closely with team members and appropriate related service staff9. Communicate clearly orally and in writing with administration, providers, and parents10. Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administratorREQUIREMENTS: 1. Completion of CPI or related training2.
Ability to perform necessary physical activities to fulfill job responsibilitiesQualified candidates must be MA-licensed as a behavior technician.
