This position is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and will be an essential part of our finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- General Bookkeeping:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain general ledger entries and reconcile bank statements.
- Prepare and process payroll.
- Monitor and manage cash flow.
- Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements.
- Automotive Industry Specific Tasks:
- Record and track parts inventory purchases and expenses.
- Process customer payments and ensure proper billing for parts and labor.
- Ensure sales tax is calculated and filed correctly.
- Handle warranty claims and repair order billing, if applicable.
- Record Keeping & Compliance:
- Ensure proper documentation of financial transactions for tax purposes.
- Assist in preparing for audits and financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, including managers and other departments.
- Assist with any other accounting inquiries or tasks as needed.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Automotive industry experience is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Education:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (such as Certified Bookkeeper or CPAs) are a plus.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with handling sensitive and confidential information.
