Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) on a part-time, onsite contract for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a valuable opportunity for professionals skilled in delivering specialized instruction to visually impaired students. Serve a diverse caseload of eight learners, collaborating closely with school staff and families to ensure each student receives the individualized services they need.
Position Highlights:
- Contract: August 26, 2026 – June 16, 2027
- Commitment: Part-time (15 hours per week)
- Onsite only, providing direct support within a school environment
- Manage a caseload of 8 students with varying needs, delivering required minutes of instruction and consultation weekly, monthly, or quarterly as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification required
- Must be fingerprinted through OSPI before employment begins
- Previous experience working in educational settings with visually impaired students strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual learning styles and needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ vision-related educational needs and develop appropriate instructional plans
- Deliver direct and consultative services in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and service coordinators to optimize outcomes
- Provide resources and support to ensure accessibility throughout the school environment
- Maintain thorough and accurate records as required
