Embark on a rewarding part-time opportunity supporting school-aged learners as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position is essential in helping students with visual impairments reach their full potential, providing them direct and meaningful educational support onsite. Your expertise will be valued as you work closely with a diverse group of eight students, delivering individualized instruction and advocacy within a collaborative environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) certification is required.
  • Must complete fingerprinting through OSPI prior to your start date.
  • Prior experience as a TVI or in related special education roles strongly desired.
  • Capable of managing a flexible caseload and adapting to a range of student needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for working alongside families and educational team members.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and adaptive strategies to a caseload of eight students, following their individualized service plans.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement best practices and supportive accommodations.
  • Regularly assess student progress and maintain accurate, detailed documentation to track growth and compliance.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning to advocate for each student's unique needs.
  • Stay up to date with innovations in technology and resources for students with visual impairments.

This role is part-time, requiring 15 hours per week, with a consistent schedule throughout the school year from August 26, 2026 to June 16, 2027. All services are delivered onsite, allowing for hands-on engagement and a dynamic connection with your students.
