Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological testing and diagnostic evaluations to assess students’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student’s unique needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on child & family counseling, social skills development, and behavioral health strategies.
- Perform crisis intervention and manage safety plans for students experiencing emotional or behavioral emergencies.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and other professionals to support student success through case management and consultation.
- Assist in early intervention programs by identifying students at risk and coordinating appropriate support services.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques when working with students with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, records of psychological testing, progress notes, and compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and adjust intervention strategies accordingly.
- Manage conflict resolution efforts among students or staff as needed to promote a positive school climate.
- Support special education processes by contributing expertise during IEP meetings and ensuring compliance with educational policies.
- Develop social-emotional learning programs that foster resilience, self-regulation, and positive behavior management.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state certification/license as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential.
- Proven experience working with children in school settings or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of child & family counseling techniques, crisis management, behavioral health interventions, and special education laws including IEP development.
- Experience conducting psychological testing and diagnostic evaluation for diverse populations including those with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), social work principles, early intervention strategies, and medical terminology related to patient care.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with students, families, educators, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining meticulous medical records and documentation standards.
