Duties:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using various therapeutic modalities, such as dance therapy, art therapy, and psychopharmacology.
- Provide counseling and support to individuals with chronic pain, special needs, and gender issues.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Conduct clinical research studies related to mental health and therapy. - Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
Qualifications:
- Licensed or able to complete licensing requirements to provide outpatient mental health services in the state of Iowa.
- Graduate-level degree in Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Psychology (Ph.D.), or Master of Social Work (MSW) Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
- Proven experience in conducting mental health assessments and providing counseling services
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based counseling modalities and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Empathy, compassion, and confidence in dealing with clients in distress
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Individuals with temporary licensing credentials (TLMFT, TLMHC, or LMSW) and new/upcoming graduates pending licensure are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural considerations in counseling
- Specialization or knowledge in specific areas such as trauma, substance abuse, or family therapy
- Experience with teletherapy or remote counseling services
- Proficiency in additional languages
