Bihler of America’s Apprenticeship Program is accepting Apprenticeship applications.
Applicants will meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Apprentices must not be less than 18 years of age.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Applicant must provide an official transcript(s) for high school and post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable.
- Applicants must submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience if they are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training/experience.
- Applicants will be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.
- Applicants will pass a screen for the current illegal use of drugs on acceptance into the program and prior to being employed. The cost of testing will be paid by Bihler.
- All applicants must pass each section of Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test, by achieving a minimum score of 80%. The cost of testing will be paid by Bihler.
- Letters of reference are encouraged.
The program consists of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training (4 years) at Bihler of America in Phillipsburg, NJ. Also 576 hours of related technical training at your local Community College. Advanced classes may need to be taken at Lehigh Carbon Community College, Schnecksville, PA. Apprentices will be trained in the set-up and operation of conventional machine tools, the manufacture of intricate steel forming tools, precision inspection and quality control as well as the construction of their own tools. Apprentices begin at 60% of Journeyman’s rate with a 10% increase every 2000 work hours including completion of the related classroom instruction.
