HealthyU Clinics is seeking a dynamic board-certified Clinical Preceptor at our Medicine Residency Clinic.
- Teach and supervise residents and medical students in the outpatient clinic

Participate in the medical education and evaluation of residents and medical students using the core competencies set forth by the ACGME:
- One-on-one discussion regarding the care of every patient seen in the FMC.
- Review of patient’s History and Physical exam. This may include a face-to-face discussion with the patient to confirm or elicit history. The preceptor may need to repeat parts of the physical exam to confirm findings.
- Direct supervision of all procedures
- Evaluation of the resident/student’s fund of knowledge
- Evaluation of the resident/student’s diagnostic process
- Evaluation of treatment options and follow up care
- Critique of the resident/student’s case presentation
- Critique of the resident/student’s documentation in the medical record
- Document all precepting encounters in the patient record
- Advocate continuity of patient care
- Co-sign all encounters with appropriate attestation
- Provide guidance in the area of Practice Management, teaching the business of medicine, and overseeing/ensuring proper billing and coding for each patient encounter
- Communicate with front and back office staff as well as other providers to help ensure a proper patient flow and streamlined processes whenever possible
- Serve as a role model for professionalism
- Provide professional guidance and emotional support for residents and staff
- Serve as a resource for community services in relation to patient care
- Serve as a role model for patient advocacy and customer service
- Provide didactic lectures at noon conference
- Teach and role-model the “art” of medicine
- Communicate with other residency faculty and program director regarding clinic processes and function. Providing feedback regarding staff and physician performance.
