Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our emergency medical team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency response, patient assessment, and trauma care. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for delivering critical pre-hospital care, operating emergency vehicles, and ensuring safe patient transport while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Responding to emergency calls and providing immediate medical attention to patients at the scene.
- Assessing the condition of patients and determining the necessary medical interventions.
- Administering appropriate emergency medical treatments following established protocols.
- Transporting patients safely to medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and utilizing advanced life support techniques when required.
- Providing accurate and concise medical documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
- Collaborating with other emergency medical services personnel, doctors, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Maintaining and restocking medical supplies, equipment, and vehicles to ensure readiness for emergency response.
- Participating in ongoing training and continuing education to stay updated on the latest advancements in emergency medical care.
- Adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the provision of emergency medical services.
- Assisting with public education and outreach initiatives to promote awareness of emergency medical services and injury prevention.
- Mentor and supervise students and new staff.
- Assisting in the Emergency Department is expected and is within the scope of practice to the level of Paramedic.
- Such duties may include vital signs, IV insertions, preparation of rooms, direct observation of patients, procedure assistance, and various jobs that can assist in patient care and the Emergency Department flow. Specific department policies and procedures should be followed. Attendance in ED training opportunities are encouraged as they arise within the department. These expectations and job assignments are subject to change as the needs of the hospital deem appropriate. Patient transfers to the floor or other assignments to locations that inhibit prompt ambulance response times should be limited.

Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Paramedic with current licensure from the appropriate state authority.
- Prior experience in critical care environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in emergency medicine procedures including airway management, medication administration, and trauma care.
- Experience with hospital settings or urgent care facilities enhances the ability to deliver comprehensive patient assessments.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and incident command protocols.
- Strong skills in patient transport logistics and heavy lifting required for safe handling of patients and equipment.
- Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely while navigating city streets efficiently under pressure.
