Description
We’re hiring a hands-on and detail-oriented Paint Booth Technician to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in the production of industrial air compressors and heavy-duty compressed air systems. This is a full-time, weekday position focused on prepping and applying high-durability finishes to large metal components and final assemblies.
The ideal candidate has industrial painting experience, understands production timelines, and is comfortable working in a high-output, fabrication-focused shop environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare compressor frames, tanks, panels, and components for painting through masking, degreasing, sanding, and priming
- Operate HVLP and conventional spray equipment to apply primer, color coats, and protective finishes according to spec
- Ensure all finishes meet required durability, corrosion resistance, and appearance standards
- Load/unload items in and out of the paint booth and coordinate with the assembly and fabrication teams
- Maintain paint booth cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and filter systems per shop guidelines
- Follow work orders, spec sheets, and production schedules accurately
- Conduct visual inspections and touch-ups to maintain consistent quality across units
- Support team goals for on-time production and product appearance
- Comply with all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and material handling procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior painting experience required – industrial, fabrication, or large equipment preferred
- Comfortable working with compressor tanks, steel housings, and heavy-duty metal parts
- Skilled in surface preparation, masking, spraying, and post-paint inspection
- Familiarity with HVLP spray guns, paint mixing systems, and finish curing requirements
- Strong understanding of shop safety and proper ventilation/PPE practices
- Ability to read basic shop drawings, spec sheets, or production instructions
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to manage time effectively
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in warm environments near curing equipment
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $25.00 – $27.00/hour DOE
